Wood tubs are definitely more unique and less common than bathtubs manufactured in acrylic, fiberglass, copper, steel or cast iron. Tubs made of wood are generally hot tubs and are designed for a comfortable and relaxing bathing experience. Wooden tubs can quite often be placed both indoors and outdoors.
The most common wood used for wood and wood fired tubs is cedar. Cedar wood is very durable and fairly accessible, while offering a nice, modern look. You can buy different stains of wood tubs depending on the décor you are trying to match or the mood you are trying to set in your bathroom.
While wood tubs may not be as durable or economical as other tubs, they are a popular luxury and well worth the investment if you are someone who loves bathing. Used wood tubs are more affordable than new, though they can be difficult to find. Many wood tubs are custom made.
